There’s nothing more refreshing on a hot Disney day than a classic pineapple Dole Whip. But what if I told you there’s a grown-up version hiding inside Disney California Adventure? Yes! I’m talking about a secret-ish Dole Whip Cocktail that turns the iconic pineapple swirl into a tropical, boozy drink.

The Dole Whip Cocktail is seriously one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, and I am SO glad to be able to bring a little bit of that Disney magic home for everyone to enjoy. It’s smooth and lightly creamy, perfectly refreshing, and tastes like a tropical vacation in a glass with just the right amount of kick.

Drinking Dole Whip Cocktails at Disney

After a morning of rope dropping, racing from ride to ride, and meeting some of our favorite Disney characters, it was finally time for a lunch break. We went to Lamplight Lounge for one very important reason: a Dole Whip Cocktail.

The Dole Whip Cocktail is considered a bit of a “Disney secret” because it’s only listed on a secret menu… shhhh. I didn’t even need to glance at the menu before confidently ordering my drink, but you can ask for the secret menu, which has even more specialty cocktails to choose from.

One sip of the Dole Whip Cocktail and I immediately had to slow myself down from finishing it in five minutes. It had all the flavors we love about a classic Dole Whip, sweet pineapple, creamy texture, and that tropical vibe—but with an added splash of coconut rum and vanilla vodka that made it feel like we were lounging at a beach resort instead of standing in a theme park.

If I had been enjoying a kid-free Disneyland trip, I would have ordered two more, but not this time. So naturally, I recreated the Dole Whip Cocktail at home, and it tastes exactly like the one at Lamplight Lounge. You’re welcome.

What is a Dole Whip Cocktail?

If you’ve never had a traditional Dole Whip, it’s a dairy-free frozen pineapple treat that Disney fans absolutely love. It’s fruity, creamy, and one of the most refreshing snacks you can get in the parks.

A Dole Whip Cocktail takes inspiration from that iconic Disney treat and transforms it into a drink just for adults. You still get that same sweet pineapple flavor and creamy texture, but with the addition of alcohol, it turns into a fun tropical cocktail.

The Dole Whip Cocktail is made with coconut rum, vanilla vodka, pineapple juice, and heavy cream. Just four simple ingredients come together to create a drink that tastes shockingly close to the frozen park favorite.

The coconut rum brings in classic tropical notes, the vanilla vodka adds a smooth, dessert-like flavor, and the pineapple juice ties it all together with bright, fruity sweetness. The splash of cream gives it that signature Dole Whip richness.

Make it Dairy-Free

Even though this Dole Whip Cocktail uses heavy cream, it’s super easy to make it dairy-free, just like the original frozen treat.

Simply swap the heavy cream for your favorite dairy-free heavy cream alternative. Coconut cream is an amazing option because it adds even more tropical flavor and richness. You could also use an oat or almond-based cream substitute, depending on your preference.

You’ll still get that smooth, luscious consistency and dreamy pineapple flavor, but in a completely dairy-free version that everyone can enjoy.
